From Delhi to Darjeeling: A Journey of a Lifetime
Experience the beauty, culture and hospitality of northern India on an extraordinary 11-night journey for two, travelling from the vibrant plains of the Delhi area to the mist-covered tea gardens of Darjeeling and the tranquil hills of Kalimpong.
This carefully curated itinerary offers luxury heritage hotels, Himalayan hospitality, golf and a series of exclusive experiences offering a glimpse into the people, landscapes and traditions of these extraordinary regions.
Your adventure begins with three nights at Karma Lakelands Golf Resort & Residences, approximately two hours from Delhi. Set within extensive landscaped grounds, this peaceful resort offers a blend of wellness, spa and sporting facilities, alongside its 9-hole golf course – making it an enjoyable retreat for golfers and non-golfers alike. Golfers can enjoy a complimentary 18-hole round, played as two rounds of the 9-hole course, while all guests can relax and make the most of the resort's facilities. Your stay includes all-inclusive accommodation and private airport transfers.
After your stay at Karma Lakelands, you can make your own arrangements to travel onwards from the Delhi area to Bagdogra, the nearest airport to Darjeeling. From Bagdogra, your private transfer will take you into the Himalayas for three nights at the iconic The Elgin Darjeeling, one of the region's celebrated heritage hotels.
As a special addition to the experience, you will have the opportunity to meet with Aashwin Pradhan, DCT's Project Lead. This private guided visit offers a unique opportunity to learn more about the projects the Trust supports and meet some of the people at the heart of DCT's programmes.
You will then experience a more intimate side of Himalayan life with two nights at Phi Nong Homestay, a beautiful hilltop retreat near the renowned Glenburn Tea Estate. Run by siblings Sonam and his sister, Phi Nong means "Brother and Sister" in Thai. During your stay, enjoy home-cooked local meals and a private guided tour of the surrounding Glenburn area with Sonam himself.
A highlight of your stay will be a private visit to the Glenburn Tea Factory, where you will discover the traditional processes, machinery and craftsmanship behind some of the world's finest teas. This half-day experience concludes with an introduction to Glenburn's seasonal teas and a bespoke tea tasting, followed by lunch at the adjoining Glenburn Estate Hotel.
Your journey concludes with three nights at The Elgin Silver Oaks, Kalimpong, where you will enjoy a private guided heritage tour exploring the history and culture of this beautiful Himalayan town.
An opportunity to extend your stay
Your itinerary takes you close to the spectacular Glenburn Tea Estate, home to a unique boutique hotel comprising two former tea estate manager's bungalows, each with four suites, alongside beautiful gardens, verandahs and terraces.

- International flights to and from India are not included
- Travel between Delhi and Bagdogra is not included. Direct domestic flights are available from Delhi to Bagdogra (the nearest airport to Darjeeling)
- The stay at Karma Lakelands is approximately two hours from Delhi, rather than being located in Delhi itself
- Any additional activities, meals, transfers or accommodation not specifically listed above are not included unless otherwise agreed
